Moon's

There are eight phases of the moon. These are the names of them New moon Waxing crescent First quarter,Waxing gibbous, Full moon Waning Gibbous Last Quarter and Waning cresent.








New moons happen when the earth ,moon and sun are in line in this order(sun earth moon).This is the first stage of the moon.It looks invisible because the earth is putting a shadow on the moon.





The second stage of the moon is the Waxing crescent.Waxing crescents happens when we see more of the moons disk.This means the moons moved so the earth is not putting a shadow on the moon.It looks like a banana.





The 1st qaurter is when the moon has gone a qaurter around the earth.This is the 3rd phase of the moon.The 1st qaurter looks like a half moon.







The 4th phase is the Waxing gibbous.The Waxing gibbous is when the moon has gone three qaurters around the earth.It looks like a an oval.

The full moon is when the moon,sun and earth are inline in this order (sun,moon,earth).This is the fifth phase of the moon.This will be the biggest tides because of the gravationall pull.The full moon looks like a circle.

The 6th phase is the Wanning gibbous.This is when we suddenly see less of the moons disk.This phase of the moon looks like an oval just like a waxing gibbous.

The last qaurter is when the moon has almost gone all the way around the earth.this is the seventh phase of the moon.it looks like a half moon.The 8th and last page is the wanning crescent.This is when the earth's shadow is almost covering the whole moon's disk.This phase look's like a banana.

People rely on the moon for cathing the best fish to eat.The moon effects the tides in many way's.
